If for some reason, you're missing a tooth, or even several teeth, there's a number of ways in which they can be replaced. This is important, not just to improve your smile, but also because your remaining teeth may be put under more stress if you don't.

You can choose to have a removable false tooth, or teeth, known as a partial denture. Or, depending on the number and location of missing teeth, it may be possible to have a fixed bridge.A fixed bridge is made by putting crowns on the teeth either side of the missing tooth, or teeth.

Next, a false tooth or teeth is put where your missing tooth or teeth used to be. Then the pieces are cemented into place using special dental adhesives so the bridge can't be removed.

Bridges are usually made of a precious metal, such as gold, or a mixture of precious and non-precious metals.

Alternatively, if you're worried about your bridge showing, you can choose to have a porcelain-coated one.
